There’s no other way to put it; Manchester United had a disappointing 2018/19 season.

Red Devils will not only end up trophyless but also won’t compete in the Champions League next season. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has a lot of work to do if he has to transform Manchester United’s fortune.

Thankfully, the summer window is fast approaching, and United have the opportunity to sign top players that can boost their squad. They also need to let go of many players in their squad who have hugely underperformed. But, who should Manchester United buy?

Today you will find out five world class players that can transform Manchester United if they are signed.

1. Declan Rice (Defensive Midfield)

The West Ham midfielder has been targeted by United throughout the season. The 20-year-old has been compared to Micheal Carrick due to their similar playing styles. Manchester United would suit him perfectly if he is signed.

2. Nicolas Pepe (Right Wing)

The Ivorian international is capable of replacing Alexis Sanchez in United. The Lille forward has fantastic pace and is extremely skillful on the field. His superb ball control, quick feet, and his ability to score goals makes him one of the best wingers in the world. Signing Nicolas Pepe would add the variety to the United attack that would make them unstoppable.

3. Kalidou Koulibaly (Central Defence)

Manchester United is lacking a defender who is capable of leading the back line effectively. If United were able to sign Kalidou Koulibaly, their problems would be solved. The Senegalese defender is good with the ball at his feet and can pass, as well as set up play from deep. He is also very solid at the back and can go up against any striker in the world. Koulibaly will undoubtedly transform Manchester United’s defense if he is signed.

4. Ruben Neves (Central Midfield)

Manchester United will need someone to replace Ander Herrera after he leaves. Ruben Neves would be the perfect replacement for him. The Wolves midfielder and is an aggressive midfielder who can tackle, man mark, score and assist.

Neves is also a threat from setpieces, something that Manchester United have lacked this season. Pogba is also linked to leaving United; if he does, Neves would be a good replacement.

5. Alex Sandro (Left-Back)

Manchester United was forced to play Ashley Young at left back in the second leg against Barcelona. Luke Shaw was suspended, and they had no real backup for him. Alex Sandro would be the right man to fill that void at United. The Juventus fullback is an attacking fullback, very athletic, and has the ability to cover a lot of ground in 90 minutes.
