Luka Jovic Real Madrid

Spanish giants Real Madrid have gotten the signature of Eintracht Frankfurt strike, Luka Jovic for a reported fee of 60 million euros.

He was signed on a six-year deal. That means the Serbian striker will remain with the La Liga club for possibly the next six seasons.

The transfer came as no surprise to many. Luka Jovic has been in splendid form this season for Eintracht Frankfurt. Jovic has scored 26 goals and provided seven assists in the 44 games, which propelled Frankfurt to a semifinal finish in the Europa League and a place in the Champions League next year.

Real Madrid, along with other top European clubs, desperately wanted his signature. However, it was Real Madrid who secured his signing. Why did Real Madrid sign Luka Jovic? What will Luka Jovic bring to Real Madrid? Let’s find out.

The perfect strike partner for Benzema

Real Madrid has endured a torrid season, and one of the main reasons was their inability to score goals. Real Madrid are aware that they need a proven goalscorer to give them more goals and have actually been looking for a forward for months, a pure No. 9 that can take his chances, and score week in, week out.

Luka Jovic is that striker. Jovic meets all the requirements sought by Real Madrid.  He’s lethal, talented, young, and has shown his ability to score regularly.

However, Karim Benzema has been on form recently for Madrid. Real Madrid is unlikely to discard their veteran striker so they would prefer a strike partnership.

Jovic is capable to accompany attacking moves as well as runs in behind; he is also dangerous inside the penalty area. He is capable of scoring with his left foot, right foot or head and providing assistance to striker partner.

The Serbian star could be used in a formidable strike partnership alongside Benzema in a 4-4-2.

Real Madrid has begun a project to rebuild their squad after a disappointing season. The addition of Luka Jovic will form a potential strike partnership with Benzema next season. Zidane will not stop with Jovic’s signing; he will still look to buy more players and reinvigorate his squad.
