Marco Reus

The transfer of Eden Hazard has left Chelsea with a hole they need to plug and the search for a new talisman for the Blues had started.

With Chelsea now serving a transfer ban, efforts are being made by the London based club to overturn the ban to allow them to strengthen their side this summer.

Shall the ban be overturned; Chelsea is expected to move in swiftly to secure a Hazard replacement with rumors going strong about possible replacements they are eyeing.

Several names had been linked with a transfer to Stamford Bridge, but here are the top three ones which would highly fit Chelsea.

Nabil Fekir (Lyon)

Fekir had always been linked with a move to the Premier League with the winger close to sealing a deal to Liverpool before Lyon decided to pull the plug on the deal in the eleventh hour.  The 25-year-old has continued to impress in his French league appearance for Lyon and has seven goals to show from his 17 appearances.  Fekir is considered a good replacement for Hazard as he is versatile and is technically gifted especially in dead-ball situations.  His ability to find pockets of space in play makes him a deadly midfielder and an asset to any team that owns him.

Marco Reus (Borussia Dortmund)

Despite threatened by an injury, German Marco Reus has enjoyed a remarkable resurgence under Dortmund.  The 29-year-old has been in stunning this, socring13 goals and six assists in his Bundesliga campaign.  His pace and directness in playing could work well for Chelsea especially since he can play both as a midfielder and striker.  However, the fact that Reus is now almost 30 might mean that Chelsea would probably sign him for a short deal.

Leon Bailey (Bayer Leverkusen)

Interest in Bailey had just recently resurged within the Chelsea camp.  The Blues are said to be very keen to sign Bailey despite the £80million price tag placed by Leverkusen on the 21-year-old Jamaican. Despite the fact he only scored five goals this season, Bailey remains a great threat when playing at the flanks and is seen as the perfect Hazard substitute.
