Two of Europe’s elite and uber-successful clubs will clash in a remarkable Champions League match on Wednesday night.

Spanish giants Barcelona will play host to Liverpool to the Camp Nou for the first leg of their UEFA Champions League semi-final.

Both teams have won the title five times and are in excellent form in their respective domestic leagues.

Here’s the preview of the match between Barcelona and Liverpool.

Barcelona

Barcelona secured an extraordinary eighth La Liga title in 11 years at the weekend, and is on course to win another historic treble. Barcelona needs to eliminate Liverpool in order to reach their first final since 2015.

Barcelona is the only unbeaten team in this season’s Champions League and has also been unbeaten since January.

This match will also see Coutinho and Luis Suarez, who both signed for Barcelona from Liverpool face their old team.

The Catalan giants have no serious injury concerns or suspensions. Ernesto Valverde’s side will come into tomorrow’s Champions League semi-final first leg clash having lost only just one game at Camp Nou in the competition in the last ten years.

Liverpool

The Merseyside club has reached the semifinals of the UEFA Champions League for the second time in a row. Jurgen Klopp’s side has played as a unit, and the signings of Van Dijk and Allison Becker have turned Liverpool into a complete team.

They will come into this game on the back of three consecutive Champions League wins. They are also in flying form in the English Premier League.

Liverpool has won their last ten games in all competitions. Although they lost all three away matches in the group stages, they came out victorious in both of the away legs in their previous two round of 16 and quarterfinal clashes.

Liverpool has injury concerns because of the fitness of Roberto Firmino, who missed the win over Huddersfield.

The game is expected to be a high scoring encounter with end to end football.
