Callum Hudson-Odoi

Chelsea was really shocked by the news that FIFA had banned them from signing any more players for two transfer windows for breaking the rules over the transfer of foreign minors.

Chelsea will now have to rely on their younger players and wonder kids to compete at the top level.

In the past few seasons, Chelsea’s football academy has shown that they are unarguably the best in England. Their youth side has won multiple FA Youth Cup wins and clinched the UEFA Youth League trophy back-to-back.

Here are the top 3 wonder kids at Chelsea who could make a breakthrough at Chelsea.

1. Callum Hudson-Odoi

Callum Hudson-Odoi was at the center of a transfer battle between Chelsea and Bayern Munich. The highly-rated winger has made a number of appearances with the first team already.

Hudson-Odoi was part of the Under 17s World Cup winning team. He was excellent in the competition and played with great confidence, he loves running at defenders and has proven to have skills, along with a good range of passing.

2. Dujon Sterling

Dujon Sterling plays as a right-back for Coventry City and is on loan from Chelsea. Sterling was among the Chelsea first team squad earlier in the season and made his debut in the Carabao Cup in a match against Nottingham Forest.

He has been highly rated and could be useful to Chelsea as a long term back up.

3. Ethan Ampadu

Ampadu signed in the summer of 2017 from Exeter City; the 18-year-old has been an integral member of the Blues’ first-team squad all season and every time that he has been called upon he has never really looked out of place.

Ampadu also made his debut for Chelsea in a match against Nottingham Forest. He debuted at 17 years and six days old, and in doing so, he became the youngest player to debut for the club in over a decade. He can play as a centreback or as a defensive midfielder.
