The 2019 summer transfer window is going to happen soon, and cash rich sides like Manchester City are likely to splash millions to attract star players onto their side.

Signing deals aside, these players coming in would likely also demand high pay to play in the worlds most watched football league.

With that in mind, I thought it would be nice to find out which football player currently earns the most by playing in the English Premier League.

Based on information gained from a site called Protac which tracks players contract, these are the three highest paid football players in this current season.

Since most of my readers are Malaysians, I’ve also converted their weekly wages to Malaysian Ringgit to enable readers to see how much these players are paid in comparison to Malaysian footballers.

Without wasting time, here’s the top three players as promised

#3 Paul Pogba, Manchester United

French and Manchester United midfielder Pogba earns RM1,558,778 a week, making him the third most paid player in the Premier League. His future at Old Trafford has come under question lately but if he continues to perform, United might just reconsider his stay at Old Trafford.

#2 Alexis Sanchez, Manchester United

Sanchez earns RM1,693,156 a week at Old Trafford, making him the second highest earning player in the league.  The Chilean has however not been scoring well for United since he joined in January 2018, and rumours are going strong that Sanchez may be leaving United in the coming transfer window.

#1 Kevin De Bruyne, Manchester City – $418,000

De Bruyne ranks the highest paid English Premier League player, earning a whopping £320,833 a week. That’s equal to RM1,724,509 a week!  The ace midfielder hasn’t however been performing well this season as he had only started in 14 games.

It is interesting to note that all three players are not exactly performing for their team currently, hence making it possible that they may be on their way out of their respective teams and will likely earn less in the future. That said, it is likely we will see a new list of highest paid players soon as the transfer window opens again at the end of the season.
