3 Things We Noticed in Real Madrid Vs Sevilla

Real Madrid leapfrogged Sevilla to move into the third position in the La Liga table. A convincing 2-0 win over the Seville based side on Saturday afternoon at the Santiago Bernabéu ensured that. It wasn’t an easy game for the Los Blancos, but their spirited second-half display and persistence bore fruit with two quickfire goals from Casemiro and Luka Modric to wrap up all three points.

Real Madrid coach Santiago Solari said after the match: “Nothing is impossible for Real Madrid and today we’re back on the road to winning games.” So,  could it be that Sevilla win shows that Real Madrid is back on track? Here are three things we noticed in the game.

  1. Vinicius Junior is Madrid’s star player

If you watched the match intently, you would agree that only Vinicius Junior offered them any signs of life, especially in the first half of the game. The 18-year-old Brazilian whizkid was full of running and energy in the first half; he even came close to scoring once.

It still obvious that Vinicius Junior isn’t a finished product and still has a long way to go to become a top-class forward. Nonetheless, his flair, direct running, and skills have been a breath of fresh air for a Madrid side that has struggled this season.

  1. Modric lifts Real Madrid

After winning the Ballon d’Or and FIFA best Player awards, a lot of eyes have been on Modric to live up to his accolades. Having the best player in the World in your team automatically makes him a leader of that team Modric proved to the leader in the game against Sevilla.

Luka Modric sealed up the win from Sevilla with the last kick off the game in a solid man of the match performance. He secured the ball after intense pressure and slotted home.

  1. Real Madrid played better in the Second Half

After a dull first-half display against Sevilla, Los Blancos improved after the break and began to play much better. They didn’t let Vinicius do all the playing; they played together and with intense pressure.

Real Madrid will face Girona in their next match in the Copa Del Rey.
