It has almost been a week since the Borneo Derby, but issues after the event continue flood social media.

While Sarawak FA is still licking their wounds from the defeat, travelling away fans to Stadium Negeri are claiming that they were almost denied allowance to bring their banners and drums to the home ground of Sarawak.

Claims by travelling Sabahan fans was that an official of the Football Association of Sarawak had initially stopped them from bringing in their banners and drums to the stadium.

It was further understood through a tweet from SabahRhinos that the instruction to not allow Sabah fans to bring their banners and drums came from the Sabah Football Association (SAFA).

The tweet elaborated that the Football Association of Sarawak had no problems with the banner and drums brought in by Sabah fans.  However, the Football Association of Sarawak acted as requested by acting Sabah Football Association president.

SabahRhinos further said that after negotiations and a phone call to another Football Association of Sarawak, the Sabah fans were finally allowed put up their banners and use their drums.

North Borneo Ultras also uploaded a video on Facebook related to the issue highlighting their discussion with the Football Association of Sarawak official.

The video which can be seen below shows the Sabah fans questioning why the Football Association of Sarawak was following instructions from the Sabah Football Association, adding that they would have abided to such rules if the instructions came from the Malaysia Football League (MFL) or the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM).
