Jose Mourinho says he is “happy” at Manchester United and less than pleased about having to answer questions about a possible return to Real Madrid.

The Red Devils boss insisted he wants to see out his current contract and stay for a new one at Old Trafford.

Reports in Spain this week have claimed Real Madrid want the Portuguese manager back to replace under-pressure boss Julen Lopetegui.

The ex-Spain coach is teetering on the brink after four defeats in five games, only months after he replaced Zinedine Zidane at the Bernabeu.

“I am happy here,” Mourinho told a press conference ahead of United’s Champions League clash with Juventus.

“All I am thinking about at the moment is Manchester United.

“I am happy to see out my contract to the very last day of that contract and I would like to stay after my contract runs out as well.”

The game sees Cristiano Ronaldo returning to Old Trafford with his new club Juventus.

Mourinho was questioned about Ronaldo, while he also sidestepped a query about ex-Juve midfielder Paul Pogba, when asked if the French ace had developed as much as he would like since he became United boss.

Mourinho made no secret of his dislike for the questioning, insisting he wanted to focus on facing the Italian champions.

“I don’t like this press conference,” said Mourinho. “I don’t want to speak about Pogba or other individuals, or Spanish journalists who are only interested in Real Madrid and Ronaldo.

“We are playing against one of the biggest clubs in the world, one of the candidates for the competition and that is what motivates me and brings me here.”

Juventus are favourites at 2.40 to win the game, with Manchester United 3.10 and the draw 3.25.
