How did Kuching FA stay undefeated in Liga M3?
May 1, 2019Staying undefeated for seven matches is no small task, and so today we look at what made Kuching the undefeated team they are in the Liga M3, up to the mid-season of the league.
Scoring early in the game
Kuching likes to kill their opponents early in the game. Out of the seven matches played by Kuching, five of the matches saw them score before the 30th minute of the match. As one knows, scoring early in a game gives Kuching an extra advantage as their opponent would need to work harder to level the score and even win.
Staying focus in the match
Kuching’s incredible defending is anything but luck. During the pre-season, the Kuching management brought in veteran defenders who used to play for Sarawak FA into the team. These defenders were mostly part of the team that lifted the 2013 Liga Premier, making them highly experience defenders with great concertation during matches. With Kuching scoring early in the matches, the defenders do their magic afterwards by keeping their opponents at bay until the full whistle.
Keeping a clean sheet
Kuching had played all seven games required in the first round of the league by avoiding defeat. They also defeated their opponents six times in the process, with only BRI U-Bes able to deny them a perfect score in the league. What many don’t notice however is how Kuching had kept a clean sheet for five of the seven matches in the Liga M3, making them have one of the best defenders and goalkeepers in the league.
Focusing on squad harmony
If one looks up Kuching FA on social media or the news, it is unlikely that one would find any negative news or rumor surrounding Kuching. In fact, all one would find is how the team enjoys playing with each other and how the management is backing the players and coaches as much as they can. This in turn creates a very positive atmosphere with the players enjoying their time with the team, and the results from seven games show just that.
