Real Madrid captain, Sergio Ramos says “great players” like Paul Pogba is always welcome to join Real Madrid.

The Spanish and Real Madrid captain, who is currently on international duty with Spain, recently spoke to Daily Express. He told them that he believes Real Madrid always has the door open for great players such as Paul Pogba.

He went on to say: “For me, Pogba is one of the great players. He is different, and he has shown his value at Juventus and now Manchester United.”

Ramos further added: “I think he provides balance to a team. He has a great offensive influence, and he has this amazing physical presence”.

Paul Pogba has long been linked with a move to the Spanish capital. Throughout the summer transfer window, it was constantly reported that Real Madrid wanted the Manchester United midfielder at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Los Blancos are still very keen on bringing the World Cup winner despite their inability to strike a deal back in the summer.

Numerous reports coming from the Spanish media have claimed that Manchester United will demand a whooping sum of £178million to let Paul Pogba join Real Madrid during the January transfer window.

It is easy to see why Real Madrid are desperate to sign Paul Pogba. They had a terrible season last season, which they were knocked out of the UEFA Champions League by Ajax and Copa Del Rey. They also finished third on the La Liga table, and very far behind winners FC Barcelona.  Bringing in the towering midfielder would mean a lot to the Real Madrid fans, and could inject some energy into their midfield.

Paul Pogba had a great season last year too. He outperformed every other Manchester United player last season in terms of Premier League goals assists and chances created. He scored 13 goals, assisted nine and created 55 goalscoring chances.

If Pogba is to join Real Madrid, he would be replacing Luka Modric. Modric has been known for his ability to dictate games, controlling the tempo from deep and extraordinary vision.  However, Pogba would definitely offer a lot more.

Real have always been successful when it comes to signing United players in the past. The likes of David Beckham, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Gabriel Heinze and Cristiano Ronaldo have all joined from Madrid.
