5 Things We Learned From Arsenal vs Chelsea

Arsenal hosted Chelsea at the Emirates on Saturday evening and won by two goals to nil. They now look to push their way back to the Premier League top-four race. The gunners got a crucial three points in the race for a Champions League berth. Two first-half goals from Frenchmen, Alexandre Lacazette and Laurent Koscielny guided the Gunners to a well-deserved 2-0 victory at the Emirates.

Here are five things we learned from Arsenal’s 2-0 victory over Chelsea.

  1. Ramsey restates his value to the Gunners

Aaron Ramsey was actually given the biggest surprise, as he shockingly made the Arsenal line-up. He moved above Alex Iwobi and played in a somewhat central attacking midfield role. He showed glimpses of his qualities which became apparent in the match. He properly pressed Chelsea and Jorginho, he made relevant tackles and transitioned into an attack.

  1. Koscielny still has it

French defender, Laurent Koscielny was arguably the best Arsenal player on the pitch. Even if he didn’t score his brilliant shoulder-flicked goal, the Frenchman was instrumental at the heart of a spirited defensive performance from the North Londoners. Arsenal defense has been a source of worry for the Arsenal fans, but Laurent still has it.

  1. Hazard struggled at false nine role

Chelsea boss, Sarri decided to stick Eden Hazard a false nine position that he struggled with in the game. Chelsea is expecting for Gonzalo Higuain to move from AC Milan to Stamford Bridge. However, that is yet to happen.

  1. Unai Emery still needs time

After an impressive 22 match unbeaten run,  Unai Emery’s men began to stutter, they lost back to back matches and dropped vital points. But from this win against Chelsea, the Spanish coach showed he still more to give. He obviously still needs time to get Arsenal to play like the team he desires.

  1. Arsenal’s race for the Premier League top four race is not over

One of the most exciting things about the English Premier League is the top four race for a Champions League spot. After last weekend’s loss to West Ham, many people concluded that Arsenal is now out of the top-four race. That is not true anymore.

Arsenal’s brilliant 2-0 victory over fellow Londoners and top-four rivals Chelsea changes the whole table. Manchester United, after their win, is level on points with the Gunners and is separated by goal difference.
