5 International Football Fixtures You Should Watch This Weekend

The Premier League, Champions League, Spanish League, and other European club football competitions have been put on a halt for the international break.

Many players have been called up to their respective countries to participate in a friendly match, a qualifying match or both. There will be many fascinating football fixtures this weekend. The qualifications for the 2019 African Nations Cup and The 2020 Euros are holding this international break. They are also many captivating international friendlies.

Today, we bring you the mouthwatering international football fixtures you should watch this weekend.

1. Argentina vs. Venezuela

Argentina will face Venezuela in the 2019 Adidas Cup this weekend. The talking point of this match is the return of Lionel Messi.

Another reason why this game will be interesting to watch is that both Argentina and Venezuela will have the opportunity to unveil their new kits. The friendly match will take place at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid.

2. Mexico vs. Chile

All eyes will be on San Diego County Credit Union Stadium on Friday when Mexico and Chile lock horns in a friendly game.  Mexico has lost five matches out of their previous six friendly games, meaning that they will be eager to get back to winning ways. Also, Mexico’s new coach Tata Martino will be eager to mark his Mexico debut with a win.

3. Ghana vs. Kenya

Although both teams have already qualified for the AFCON 2019, it still promises to be a great game and a tough battle. Ghana booked a ticket to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt after they claimed two wins from three matches. They are second in Group B, one point off the top of the table and will finish as group winners with a victory on Saturday. Kenya has also qualified, and is top if the table. However, both teams will be fighting for whom tops the table.

4. Libya vs. South Africa

Bafana Bafana and Libya will face each other in a nerve-wracking final AFCON qualifier match day as they both look to book their place in the finals. Stuart Baxter’s side are currently on nine points after playing five qualifying matches, while Libya are two points behind them at the third position.

Bafana Bafana needs a point against Libya to qualify for the tournament, while a win for Libya would mean that they book their place in the AFCON. This is one of the most interesting of all the international football fixtures this weekend.

5. Netherlands vs. Germany

On Sunday, The Dutchmen will face the German national team in the Euro qualification round. Both teams are very good sides and boost if incredible players.

Germany is a resurgent side, same as the Netherlands so that will definitely be a match to see.
