Which teams are most likely to clinch the 2019/20 UEFA Champions League trophy?

In a few days’ time, Europe’s most prestigious club competition, the UEFA Champions League return and all football fans, are eagerly awaiting the resumption of the tournament.

After an amazing 2018/19 season which saw mind-blowing comebacks and lots of crazy upsets, we are all looking forward to another great season in Europe.

Last season ended with Liverpool cruising past Tottenham Hotspur in the final at the Wanda Metropolitano to win their 6th European title. This season, a lot of teams will be looking to win the trophy, but who are the favourites lift the 2019/20 UEFA Champions League trophy? Let’s find out.

1. FC Barcelona

Since winning the Champions League in 2015, FC Barcelona has exited the tournament in embarrassing fashion. The shocking elimination at the hands of Liverpool was so disappointing and humiliating. However, the team looks rejuvenated with the signings of Frenkie de Jong and Antoine Griezmann.

2. Juventus

Juventus have set their sights on winning a Champions League trophy for a very long time. They have made some impressive signings and also have a new coach. Cristiano Ronaldo will also be seeking to prove his doubters wrong, by winning the trophy with his team.

3. Manchester City

Pep Guardiola’s men are not one to write off easily. VAR denied them a place in the semifinals of the last Champions League, and this time they will be back to win it. Pep Guardiola has not won a Champions League trophy since he left FC Barcelona. However, he knows that his current squad can deliver him the trophy.

4. Liverpool

There is no doubt that Liverpool has what it takes to retain their trophy. In the 2017/2018 Champions League season, they lost to Real Madrid in the final before winning it the following year. They have built a solid side capable of challenging any team in Europe, and are clear favourites this year.

5. Paris St. Germain

The French club has always had their eyes on the European trophy, and they have been making expensive signings and hiring coaches so they could win it. This year’s edition could possibly be their year. They have boosted their ranks with the loan signing of Argentine striker, Mauro Icardi and retained their talisman Neymar Junior.
