It is no secret that Manchester United will likely keep current interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as their manager.

But with the summer transfer window soon to be open, rumours are going strong about new signings and who would be taken in or released by the club.

According to Daily Mail, Solskjaer wants to improve things at the right back and central midfiled.  That siad, these are the players listed as key favourites.

Ivan Rakitic

Croatian Rakitic may be 31 years old, but he has been an influential figure in Barcelona’s midfield.  Barcelona’s recent signing of Frankie de Jong makes Rakitic’s position as a regular uncertain hence paving the possibility that Rakitic may be allowed to leave below his release clause of £108 million.

Marco Verratti

Central midfielder Verratti is said to have caught the eye of United’s top guns after his sterling performance at Old Trafford in the Champions League recently.  His awareness and capabilities ensured Paris Saint-Germain beat United 2-0 in the first leg of their last 16 clash.  The versatile 26-year old will fit nicely in Solskjaer’s plans to boost his midfield shall United agree to splash about £90m.

Toni Kroos

Valued at £50m, Kroos had always been on United’s radar with the central midfielder almost swithing to the Red Devils in 2013.  While he has been enjoying a good run with Real Madrid, United may just temp the German to switch sides for assured regular football.

Saul Niguez

Both United and Manchester City are said to be keen on siging Niguez, but Niguez might opt for United for regular football.  The 26-year-old Spannish has been performing well with Atlético Madrid and is said to be a player United had been eyeing since last summer.

Joao Cancelo

Cacelo is a long shot for United because he had only spent one season with his new club Juventus.  He signed for Juventus last summer with the cost of £90m.  Despite that, it does’t mean the Portugese defender is off United’s radar as the 24-year old had been impressive in Italy and would be a very good answer to United’s right defence issues.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Wan-Bissaka has been brilliant for Crystal Palace this season and the fantasy points he is raking in are testemant to that.  The 21-year old defender may seem inexperienced by some, but the United are always keen to groom and improve new stars hence making Wan-Bissaka a prime target.  Crystal Palace however may be relunctant to let Wan-Bissaka leave, but if United splash more than £40m, Palace might be listening better.
