Manchester United will welcome Manchester City on Wednesday night for the Manchester derby.

Should Manchester City win, they would take a giant stride towards retaining the Premier League title. City is just two points behind leaders, Liverpool with a game to spare. That means that victory at Old Trafford would bring them closer to winning the title.

We expect the game to be amazing, so here’s the preview of the Manchester United vs. Manchester City game.

Manchester United

The host is coming into this game on the back of a shocking 4-0 defeat to Everton last Sunday. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’ men need a vital win, so they can still remain in the race for a Champions League spot.

A win over City would also lift their spirits before their crucial match with Chelsea at Old Trafford this weekend.

Manchester United Team News: Luke Shaw was suspended for two games and is back, he is expected to start at left-back for Manchester United.

Ander Herrera is also back after he missed five games due to injury; he has returned to training and could be in contention to start against City.

Team captain Antonio Valencia and Eric Bailly are unavailable.

Manchester City

Manchester City come into this game full of confidence and complete focus. After they were eliminated from the Champions League by Tottenham, they have shifted their full focus to retaining the Premier League.

They won Tottenham 1-0 in their last League game on Saturday and will be hoping to overcome United.

Manchester City Team News: City’s playmaker, Kevin De Bruyne could probably miss Wednesday’s derby after limping off the pitch during their victory over Tottenham.

Bendy missed the last game due to poor match fitness, but he is likely to start against United.

The reverse fixture at Etihad stadium took place in November 2018, where Manchester City cruised to a 3-1 victory over The Red Devils.
