Defender Medhi Benatia says he is happy with life at Juventus but has revealed he will hold talks with the club’s hierarchy about his long-term plans.

The Morocco international, who has played in both of his country’s defeats at the 2018 World Cup which resulted in an early exit, joined Juventus permanently last summer from Bayern Munich following a successful loan spell in the 2016/17 campaign.

The 31-year-old centre-back made 20 Serie A appearances this past season, scoring two goals, and his impressive performances at the back helped the Old Lady win the league title for the seventh straight year.

Interest in the defender is said to be growing after his displays in Russia this summer and several reports are suggesting the Turin outfit could decide to cash in on the Courcouronnes-born star.

However, when quizzed about his future, Benatia says he is happy to stay with the Italian champions although there is the need for discussions to take place between himself and the club officials.

“My future is going on holiday, enjoying a little rest and time with my family,” he said.

“We’ll see, I’m very happy at Juve, we have a group of incredible lads and I’m happy to be part of it.

“I have two years on my contract, but I also want to understand what Juventus want to do.

Either way I won’t create any problems. Nobody has asked me to leave, but at the age of 31 you have to ask yourself some questions.

“If I’ve to stay I’ll be happy, my family is happy in Turin. Up until now I was focused on the World Cup, now we’ll meet with the directors and decide what the best thing to do is.”

Juventus are firm 1.70 favourites to defend their league title next season whilst Napoli are priced at 4.50.
