Fiorentina’s on-loan winger Marko Pjaca believes Napoli are among the favourites to claim the Scudetto but has backed his side to beat them on Saturday.

The sides will head into the weekend fixture locked together on six points, with La Viola sitting third in the early Serie A standings and the Naples outfit fifth.

Juventus, 1.30 to win an eighth straight title, are, once again, the pacesetters and have maximum points from three games, with the Old Lady taking on second-placed Sassuolo on Sunday.

Before then, two of the chasing pack will lock horns and Pjaca, on loan from Juve, feels Fiorentina can ruffle the feathers of a team that he rates highly.

“Napoli are strong and it’ll be difficult, but we have started the season very well and want to continue like this,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

“I think they are Scudetto contenders and a team that want to win, always. At the same time, Fiorentina can win this game and it’s what we want to do.”

Pjaca was part of the Croatia squad that reached the World Cup final in the summer and played the last 10 minutes of the 4-2 final defeat to France.

The 23-year-old has scored just one goas for his country in 19 appearances while he is hardly prolific at club level, with just 30 in 130 league games across three different leagues. And it is this aspect of his game that the talented wide man wants to improve to aid his club’s quest for silverware.

“I really want to score goals and prove I can help Fiorentina, hopefully starting at the Stadio San Paolo, so we can do good things both in Serie A and the Coppa Italia,” he added.

Napoli are 1.60 to win the game while Fiorentina can be backed at 5.50 and the draw is 4.20.
