Davy Klaassen looking to restart career in Germany

Midfielder Davy Klaassen is hoping to show the Werder Bremen fans exactly what he can do after ending a frustrating spell at Everton to join the Bundesliga side.
The 25-year-old was signed by then Toffees boss Ronald Koeman in June 2017 but fell out of favour after the Dutchman was sacked and replaced by Sam Allardyce.
The Netherlands international made only seven Premier League appearances and 16 in all competitions for the Merseysiders last term and it seemed inevitable that he would be on his way this summer.
New Goodison Park chief Marco Silva made it clear that the former Ajax man had no future at the club and he has now moved to Werder for a reported fee of £12m after Everton paid £23.6m for his services just 13 months ago.
It was a disappointing stint in the Premier League for Klaassen but he is pleased to have moved to Germany and is now keen to get going at a club that shares his philosophy on the sport.
“It was important to me to know exactly where the journey was going on the pitch and the ambitions of the club have convinced me,” he told Bremen’s website.
“After my exchange with coach Florian Kohfeldt, I have a very good feeling that I can make an important contribution here with my abilities.
“The coach wants to play attractive, attacking football. I am really looking forward to that.”
Werder Bremen kick off their top-flight campaign at home to Hannover on August 25 and are priced at 2.50 to take all three points, with the opposition 3.30 and the draw on offer at 3.50.
