Leicester City manager Claude Puel says his side need “more consistency” after Saturday’s 1-1 draw at home to Stoke City extended their winless run in the Premier League to four matches.

The Foxes, who were unbeaten in their last five league matches at King Power Stadium prior to the clash against the Potters, struggled to carve out many clear-cut chances and went behind when Xherdan Shaqiri struck just before half-time the visitors.

Paul Lambert’s men defended stoutly throughout and, had it not been for Jack Butland’s own-goal in the 70th minute, they would have come away with a much-needed three points.

As it was, the two teams finished with a share of the spoils and Puel’s side remain eighth in the table, a point behind Burnley in seventh, whilst Stoke are languishing down in 19th place.

For Leicester, it extends their winless run in the league to four matches and the French manager says his players need to maintain a constant level over 90 minutes in order to get back to winning ways.

“We just need more consistency in our game. This game had different tempos,” he said.

“It was very good in the beginning, then it was not enough, then it was very good in the second half. We need to have more consistency throughout all the game.”

The 2015/16 Premier League champions welcome Bournemouth to King Power on Saturday and the hosts are 1.91 favourites to win, a draw is priced at 3.60 whilst the Cherries, who earned a 2-2 draw against Newcastle last time out, are 4.20 outsiders.

Puel’s men then travel to rock-bottom West Brom before taking on Chelsea in the FA Cup quarter-finals.
