Burnley manager Sean Dyche is confident his team will avoid the drop this season in the Premier League – as long as they maintain their recent performance levels.

The Clarets are just one place above the relegation zone after the first 25 games of the season.

Dyche’s men have not won any of their last four games in all competitions and just two points separate them from 18th-placed Cardiff City. However, Burnley have drawn three of the last four matches and Dyche has been impressed with their performance levels.

He insists his team need to maintain them in order to climb the table, starting with Saturday’s trip to Brighton.

“Everything revolves around performances for me, both individually and collectively,” said Dyche. “When you get that right, it doesn’t mean there is any guarantee, but it gives you a whole better chance of getting what you want if you’re performing at the right level.

“If in turn that changes the view of the league and how it’s working, and who’s doing what and points on the board, of course that’s a good bonus.

“But the fact is if we deliver what we can deliver and, as we are doing, then we’ll definitely look after ourselves, but we’ve got keep the standards high.

“We continue to look at ourselves, we continue to look at performance levels, not focusing on anything other, and I think we’ve done that well.”

Brighton are 2.10 favourites, with the draw 3.25. The Clarets are 3.80 outsiders to grab all three points.
