Leicester City defender Ben Chilwell insists his side are doing everything they can to qualify for the Europa League this season.

The Foxes, who currently sit eighth in the Premier League table, will return to action after the international break on the back of a 2-1 defeat to Chelsea in the FA Cup.

Despite the disappointment, Chilwell insists his side need to regroup quickly and he believes they can finish seventh.

Burnley currently occupy that spot, with eight games to go, but just three points separate them at present.

Seventh could be enough for Europa League qualification if the eventual winners of the FA Cup have already qualified for Europe.

Chilwell insists it would be a great experience to play in Europe and has urged the squad to have one final push.

He told the Leicester Mercury: “We are comfortable in the league in terms of not being threatened by relegation but obviously we have goals in the league, which is to finish seventh and try to get into the Europa League.

“It is a massive target for us this season and something we have spoken a lot about as a team. It is definitely an aim and we are not relaxing because we are safe in the league. We want to finish seventh and get European football next season.

“It would be massive for the club and the players. There are a lot of matches playing at different places and against good opposition in different countries.

“For the young boys it would be a great learning curve and good experience to play against teams from abroad.”

Leicester are next in action on Saturday, March 31 when they travel to Brighton.

The Seagulls are 2.80 to win, the draw is 3.20 and the Foxes can be backed at odds of 2.63.
