The Liga Premier rest for its mid-season break after all teams had completed the ten games required as part of the league.

Sarawak FA reached the mid-point of the Liga Premier with eight points, sitting at 9th place of the 11-team league.

The Kuching based team had only two matches out of the ten matches they had at hand, with another two being stale mates and the rest being defeats.

Under Sarawak are the likes of Kelantan FA and Pulau Pinang FA. Kelantan rank bottom of the league after they were docked points for failure to adhere to FIFA instructions, while Pulau Pinang sits at 10th with the same eight points Sarawak have.

Above Sarawak are PDRM FA and UKM FA with nine points.  From the league standings, it is easy to sum up that Sarawak are currently at cross roads as they are technically in the relegation battle, but they can still pull out of it by winning a few games in the league.

Fans were hopeful Sarawak would be able to score the full three points against the then bottom place PDRM FA last week, but their hopes crumbled when the Crocs fell at home instead.

It is these sorts of games that Sarawak really need to win, and their failure to do so have made fans rather anxious over the future of the side.

To make matters worse, the team coached by Denny Da’ail was put in a very difficult position last week with the Malaysia Football League slapping the side with a transfer embargo during the coming transfer window.

Sarawak had desired to bring in outside talents to improve their team during the May transfer window and the decision by the Malaysia Football League to penalize Sarawak for failure to complete the registrations of players on time had tanked any such plan.

With only ten more matches left in the league after the month of Ramadan, fans are hopeful that Sarawak would come back from the break better than ever because if they don’t, relegation to Liga M3 looks almost certain.
